Unlike the summer months where humidity levels rise, the winter months have an opposite effect where the humidity levels decrease in indoor spaces. This can be a big factor since it has a direct bearing on health and energy consumption.

In short, this means that controlling the amount of humidity can actually help you save money by keeping your thermostat at a lower setting. It will feel warmer because of the relative percentage of humidity.

At Phoenix Mechanical, we offer three types of humidification systems for your forced air heating system.

If you’re looking for maximum constant and reliable humidification, then powered steam humidifiers are your best option. They offer the best type of humidification which is in the form of hot steam. Since they are self powered and heat the water to produce steam, they are also designed to work without the heating system operating which provides constant humidification. They take little to no room to mount in small locations and are almost maintenance free.


It is equipped with a built-in fan that circulates humidified air throughout your home via your furnace duct system. The humidifier fan draws dry air from the furnace duct through the water panel evaporator. The humidified air then wraps around both sides of the Water Panel and returns through the side louvers into the furnace’s air flow. This in turn, is distributed throughout the whole house.


It utilizes the furnace fan to direct humidified air to each room in your home. When the furnace operates, negative air pressure is created that draws air from the supply, hot side of the furnace to the return, cold side. This pressure draws the heated air through the Water Panel evaporator, providing comforting, humidified air throughout the home.
