TSSA-Mandatory Residential Natural Draft Boiler Inspection Order [ view PDF version ]

The Technical Standards and Safety Authority has re-issued their mandatory residential natural draft boiler inspection directive for the fourth year in a row. This means that customers with a natural draft boiler within a residential building are subject to a mandatory (CO) Carbon Monoxide check within the flue gas. If the systems is producing a 100 ppm or more of Carbon monoxide further actions must be taken immediately by the service technician. This may involve a deeper inspection into the cause of the excessive (CO). Once the unit passes inspection, an inspection tag will be affixed to the unit which will cover the rest of the heating season.
